I love storytelling and putting together pieces of history so that the world makes sense.
I love my family and the special friends that I’ve been fortunate to share time with, but we don’t always see eye to eye. This blog originated as a place where I could rant and rave without offending but where I would find a community of like-minded individuals to exchange thoughts. I wanted the blog to be about my opinions on such topics that are not polite to speak of in pleasant company – for example, religion and politics.

Verbal Snapshots of a simple life

Given the prevailing emotional tone of our country, I have decided instead to focus on my passion of elaborating on the histories hidden in the dusty corners of my memory.   I tell a story with my observations and thoughts of the world around me.  I work with the questions that swirl in my head with multiple answers. I believe these “snapshots of a simple life” are at the core of a universal truth that unites every one of us. That’s not to say that my strong opinions on controversial subjects will not pop up now and then, but it will not be my primary purpose.

Someday I may publish these writings for my granddaughters. However, today I write for someone who just needs some insight or a bit of reprieve from this crazy, fast and furious train ride that we call life. That person is looking for a break – an unpretentious essay at the end of the day to go with a cup of coffee, tea or wine. Regardless of gender, there are some who understand that there is a treasure in our simple moments. It’s not an original idea I know.  I’ve seen memes that say “we do not remember days, we remember moments” or as quoted from  Dr. Seuss, “Sometimes you will never know the value of a moment until it becomes a memory”. Perhaps bringing back those moments to my readers will encourage them to look for that better tomorrow.
